Business Days Calculator
Calculate working days, exclude weekends, and plan project deadlines.
About the Business Days Calculator
Planning projects, shipping schedules, or legal deadlines often requires ignoring weekends and focusing solely on "working days." A standard calendar calculator counts every day, which can lead to missed deadlines. Our Business Days Calculator solves this by allowing you to specifically count or add days based on your work schedule.
This tool is designed for flexibility. While the default setting counts Monday through Friday as business days, you can easily customize the "Work Week" at the top of the calculator. This is perfect for industries with non-standard shifts (e.g., Tuesday-Saturday) or 4-day work weeks.
Main Features
- Add Business Days: Determine a future deadline by adding a specific number of working days to a start date. For example, "What date is 10 business days from today?"
- Count Days Between: Find out exactly how many working days exist between two dates. This is essential for calculating payroll periods or project duration.
- Custom Work Week: Toggle specific days on or off. If your business operates 6 days a week, simply click "S" (Saturday) to include it in the calculation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this calculator exclude public holidays?
Currently, this tool excludes weekends based on your selection (e.g., Sat/Sun). It does not automatically exclude specific public holidays (like Christmas or New Year's) as these vary wildly by country. You should add extra days to your calculation to account for any specific holidays falling in your range.
Does "10 business days" include the start date?
Calculations typically start from the day after the start date. If you start on Monday and add 1 business day, the result is Tuesday.
Can I calculate for a 4-day work week?
Yes! Just uncheck the days you don't work (e.g., uncheck Friday) in the "Customize Work Week" section at the top of the tool.
