Complete Guide to Bullet Point Symbols

We built this list because standard keyboards are limiting. You usually only get a hyphen (-) or an asterisk (*), yet you often want a proper round dot (•) or a square (■) to make your list look professional. So, we collected every type of list marker here. You can just click any icon to copy it to your clipboard.

Where can I use these?

  • Resumes & CVs: A clean square (▪) or diamond (◆) makes your skills section look organized and stands out to recruiters.
  • Social Media: You can use stars (★) or small arrows (➤) to break up lines in your Instagram bio or TikTok caption. It makes the text much easier to read.
  • Emails: Use a heavy arrow (→) to point readers to a link. It grabs attention better than a plain text link.

Common Questions

Do these work in Word and Google Docs?
Yes. Since these are standard Unicode characters, they act just like normal letters. You can paste them into Microsoft Word, Excel, Notion, or Google Docs and they will look perfect.

How do I type a bullet point on my keyboard?
On Windows, you can hold down Alt and type 0149 on your number pad. On a Mac, you hold Option + 8. But that is hard to remember and doesn't work on phones. That is why we made this tool—it is faster to just click and copy.
